I bought this book 1001 Children's Books You Must Read Before You Grow Up from the school book club a little while ago. Today I started check it out. It is a great list of books from childhood favourites to recent publications. I can hardly wait to see what books my DD's will decide are their favourites.
I loved the Anne of Green Gables series and hope to introduce my DD's to them when they can read that well. I must check if they are in book. Yep, It's there.
What book was your favourite as a child? Is there one you really want your children to like?

I always loved, "Love You Forever" it's still a great book to read today for adults and kids.
I've kept a lot of my favourite books but I wonder if my kids will ever read them? I read a few of my parents books but mostly I didn't because I thought they were old and outdated.
I was a big babysitters club fan - I bet they're not in the list.
I can't really remember back before that to classic children's books I was read before I could read myself. I do, however, remember my father making up his own elaborate stories at bedtime. They were the best.
My first love was anne of green gables, mum read it. when I could read it was all beverley cleary, then roald dahl and judy blume!
I read Judy Blume as well, Actually I read pretty much anything printed on a page, except fanasty.
I met Judy Blume when I was in primary school. She must have been doing an author tour.
